Abstract
Emission spectra of cathodoluminescence of Cu, Ag, and Au in MgS, CaS, SrS, and BaS, at room temperature and near 80~ are presented. The spectra depend very much on the coactivators used including the alkalies and the halides. The observations indicate the luminescence to be caused by centers containing both activator and coactivator.
