After reading this article and completing the time out activities you should be able to: » Understand the role, value and purpose of formulation in clinical practice. » Identify important aspects of formulation and how they interact, using the five-area and 5Ps models. » Explain how formulation can contribute towards shared understanding and care planning. » Practise using the models outlined in this article as the basis for planning care and interventions.
