Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of understanding and practicing Islamic values among students of Malaysian Aviation Training Academy. This study is in the form of a survey using adapted questionnaires that have been certified by two expert assessors in history education field whom are experienced and have good reliability value. A total of 169 students currently studying Aircraft Engineering License Course (Cat B 1.1) and Aircraft Technician License Course (Cat A 1.1) were involved in this study selected through simple - random sampling technique. The finding of the study showed that the level of understanding on Islamic values is at high level. However, the level of Islamic values practices among students is at moderate level. The implication of this study have suggested that educators should exhibit innovative approaches and methods in line with the development of 21st century learning strategies to develop good personality among students. Abstrak Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap penghayatan nilai Islam dalam kalangan pelajar di Malaysian Aviation Training Academy. Kajian ini berbentuk tinjauan dengan menggunakan soal selidik yang diadaptasi yang telah disahkan oleh dua orang pakar penilai dalam bidang pendidikan sejarah yang berpengalaman dan mempunyai nilai kebolehpercayaan yang baik. Seramai 169 orang pelajar yang mengikuti kursus lesen kejuruteraan pengendalian pesawat (Cat B1.1) dan kursus lesen juruteknik pengendalian pesawat (Cat A1.1) melalui teknik persampelan bertujuan-rawak mudah terlibat dalam kajian ini. Hasil dapatan kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa tahap kefahaman terhadap nilai Islam berada pada tahap tinggi. Namun begitu, tahap pengamalan pelajar terhadap nilai Islam berada pada tahap sederhana. Implikasi kajian ini telah mencadangkan bahawa pendidik perlulah mempratikkan pendekatan dan kaedah didikan yang inovatif selaras dengan perkembangan strategi pembelajaran abad ke-21 untuk membangunkan sahsiah pelajar yang baik.
