Abstract

Emmanuel Mounier’s personalism can be contextualized as the historical phenomenon originated in France close to 1930, carried out by the movement of the Esprit magazine and as an answer of the political and spiritual crisis that was breaking out then in Europe. Mounier stands out that personalism is a philosophy not only an attitude; is a philosophy and not a system. His thought has a practical side that seeks projection into a social movement, that is the Personalist Revolution, in which person is the cornerstone of any community as a response to two systems that have drowned and alienated the same person: totalitarianism in its Soviet and fascist version, and capitalistic individualism. Both systems aim to be overcome by the Community personalism of E. Mounier.
