Abstract

A preliminary result of reverse Monte Carlo (RMC) analysis of small-angle X-ray scattering data for expanded fluid Hg with the help of wide-angle X-ray diffraction data in the same thermodynamic state is presented. In RMC analysis, three-dimensional configurations of 100000 Hg atoms were modeled to see the large density fluctuation associated with liquid-vapor critical phenomena. It was found that interpolation of measured structure factors is necessary for RMC analysis. © International Union of Crystallography 2007.
