Agritourist Motivations: The Case of Turkey

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine what motivated agritourists of Turkish origin to participate in agritourismin Turkey. In line with this target a survey has been carried out with 196 Turkish agritourists who participated inagritourism in Turkey. Agritourist motivation scale was used as a tool to collect data for the application and anonline survey link was dispatched to the e-mail addresses of the agritourists to be filled between January andMarch of 2013. Arithmetical average, standard deviation, factor analysis and reliability analysis were used in thestudy. The results of the study revealed that Turkish agritourists had participated in agritourism for reasons suchas to enjoy scenery, life and mental relaxation. In other words agritourists participated in agritourism in order torelax physically or mentally and be in touch with nature.
