Abstract

The Prediction of Adults’ Psychological Help Seeking Attitude Submitted by 25.12.2014 Accepted by 12.06.2015 Abstract This study aims to predict psychological help seeking attitudes of adults. Four hundred forty adults (298 women and 142 men), from different socio economic status participated to the study. In the study Help Seeking Attitude Scale, Self-Concealment Scale, Emotional Expression Questionnaire and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher were used to collect data. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the predictive power of self-concealment, emotional expression and gender on adults’ psychological help seeking attitudes. According to the results, self-concealment, emotional expression and gender were significant predictors of adults’ psychological help seeking attitudes. These findings were discussed in comparison with the findings of previous research in the literature
