Abstract
Trend1 analysis is helpful to understand the present situation and predict the future. Although there are several trend analysis services, there was no research trend analysis system that might help governments and researchers decide which topics to invest in or perform researches about. We propose and implement ARTAS that automatically collects research papers and analyzes research trends. ARTAS is easy to use in various research fields because it can be customized. As the first implementation, we used ARTAS to analyze security research trend by collecting papers published by the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptology, ACM Computer and Communication Security, IEEE Security and Privacy, Network and Distributed System Security Symposium, and USENIX Security. As result of analysis, we figured out that it took two or three years for new keywords in the four international conferences to become popular in KIISC. In addition, Korean researchers tend to focus on a rather small scope of research topics related to authentication while international researchers do on wide range of topics.
