Abstract

The occurrence of aflatoxin in Malaysian foods was monitored by several labs. It was found that aflatoxin could be detected at low levels in a wide variety of foods including spices, cocoa beans, copra, rice, milk, eggs, and chicken livers. High levels of contamination were noted in peanuts and peanut products. Efforts are currently underway to monitor peanut aflatoxin contamination more systematically. Recommendations were made for better understanding and control of this problem. [on SciFinder (R)]
