Abstract
The article presents a supplementary material for the May 2002 issue of the journal "Thorax." The search strategies used by the adult group were compiled by Richard Marriot, Senior Medical Librarian at Nottingham City Hospital. They were revised and regrouped as: incidence; aetiology; primary care; clinical features; diagnosis; radiology; complications; antibiotic therapy; drug therapy; other management; nursing; prognosis; prevention. The rewritten searches were reviewed by Olwen Beaven in Liverpool who is an information specialist. The searches were run on an online database using Winspirs with Silverplatter as the interface. There were no language restrictions.
