Abstract
This article deals with news coverage undertaken by the Brazilian commercial media on favorable and contrary protests to the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff, during 2015 and early 2016. We found a cover of private press in favor of pro-impeachment protests, with opening full pages to the event, aerial images, open photos in large proportions, beyond the highlights for the numbers of protesters as a way to sugest the broad support of most of the population to the deposition of president. In contrast, the protestes in favor of the government Dilma followed a lean coverage without emphasis on the front page and inside, with emphasis on numbers that could be indicated low participation and low support for the president.
