Abstract

The agricultural waste obtained from different parts of the plants and crops is a source of fuel for domestic applications and small industries. It is observed that only a part of these materials is utilised profitably because of lack of awareness of effective means and methods for waste-to-energy conversion. In this paper, cost analysis of producer gas which is obtained by biomass gasification is done. The 'cost analysis' denotes a methodology for a project evaluation and also deals with fundamental concepts on economic matters. The analysis of the benefits and costs of biomass-to-producer gas conversion aims to evaluate the economic rationality of a possible investment decision. This will improve the economy of rural mass and minimize the dependence on petro-fuel and other high grade energy sources.
