Abstract

Physical exercises that can be done during the puerperium include early exercise. Some of thebenefits that postpartum mothers immediately carry out physical exercise are that they can speed upthe recovery of uterine devices or the process of uterine involution, reduce the incidence of bladdercomplications, purperalis venous thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism and reduce complaints of thedigestive system and urination. Purwanto, 2007). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectof physical exercise on the process of uterine involution. The method used in this study is quasyexperiment, with the sample being postpartum mothers with purposive sampling technique. Thisresearch was conducted in Sidoarjo, with the independent variable being physical exercise, namelypostpartum mothers in the treatment group taught physical exercise in the form of early exercise onthe first day to the third day, while the dependent variable was the process of uterine involution.Based on the results of testing the statistics above, it can be seen that the significance value is 0.100,there is no difference in the process of uterine involution between the experimental and controlgroups. In this study, it shows that there are other factors that also affect the process of uterine involution including parity and age. Further research is expected to pay more attention to other factors that are also influential. The conclusion of this study is that there is no effect of physical exercise on the process of uterine involution. Keywords: early exercise, uterine involution
