Abstract
© 2016 The Electrochemical Society. A rapid and high sensitive method of metamizole determination was successfully developed at glassy carbon electrode modified with Nafion/PEDOT:PSS film using linear sweep voltammetry in phosphate buffer at pH 3.0. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode and electrooxidation of metamizole was investigated using cyclic voltammetry. A linear voltammetric response for analyte was obtained in the concentration range from 0.1 μmol L− 1 (33.3 μg L− 1 ) to 13 μmol L− 1 (4.33 mg L− 1 ), with a detection limit of 0.02 μmol L− 1 for preconcentration time of 90 s. Repeatability of method was determined as RSD % for metamizole concentration of 0.5 μmol L− 1 as 2.2% for n = 9. The proposed method was successfully applied for determination of metamizole in various pharmaceuticals products. The method was validated by studying the recovery from spiked urine and tablets samples. Proposed metamizole determination method is simple, short and does not require large financial outlays.
