Perancangan Game Visual Novel Menggunakan Ren'Py Berbasis Android

Abstract

Stories in visual novels can vary widely, including romance, mystery, science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Visual Novel Games in the horror genre, more precisely included in the Visual Novel horror subgenre, are very popular because they provide a special sensation for those who like horror, where players are often faced with important decisions that influence the course of the story, thus providing many different possible endings. by providing gripping events. In the research carried out, the real story in West Kalimantan was based on the urban legend "Padang 12" which was obtained from 50 respondents, where 78% did not know the story about the urban legend "Padang 12", 88% were interested in knowing about the urban legend "Padang 12", and 96% were interested in being created in a game, so this research aims to design and develop an Android-based visual novel game using Ren'Py, for developing visual novels on the Android platform. The research results show that Ren'Py is an effective and efficient tool for developing visual novel games on the Android platform. The developed game succeeded in providing a satisfying gaming experience for users, showing great potential in using Ren'Py for the development of visual novel games in the future.
