Abstract

A new species of Ctenocerinae, Abernessia prima sp. nov., is described for Brazil based on the male sex only. This is the first male to be described for the subfamily in the Neotropics. A brief discussion of the current status of Ctenocerinae is provided. Distribution records and illustrations for another Neotropical Ctenocerinae species, Lepidocnemis antiquus, also are provided. © 2011 Entomological Society of America.
