Abstract
This article examines, firstly, the frequency reported in committing plagiarism by students of Compulsory Secondary Education and, secondly, it delves into the study of the relationship between academic achievement and the perpetration of plagiarism. The results provide interesting findings about the extension of the phenomenon of plagiarism in classrooms of secondary education level. We further demonstrate the existence of a significant relationship between academic achievement and the perpetration of plagiarism: lower academic performance increases the propensity to commit acts of plagiarism and conversely.
