Abstract
And the magic number is... . A large amount of oligomer-free 1-octene (99.9%) was produced from ethylene by a catalytic system based on chromium during the formation of polyethylene wax [see GC-MS chromatogram; the other three significant peaks are methanol (quenching agent), ethyl acetate (needle-rinsing agent), and toluene (solvent)].
