Abstract
Microbial poly(ε-L-lysine)(M-ε-PL) is a naturally occurring biomaterial, which is water soluble, biodegradable, edible and non-toxic towards humans and environment. Normal mode analysis including phonon dispersion has been performed to understand completely the vibrational spectra of this polymer. Various characteristic features of the dispersion curves have been reported. The heat capacity is calculated as a function of temperature via density-of-states in the range 1-450 K. © 2008 The Society of Polymer Science.
