Eight genotypes were crossed in a half diallel, and the parents and their F1 hybrids were evaluated during 1991-92 for 5 yield components. Values for genotypic variation, broad sense heritability, genetic advance and yield correlation were obtained for each character. The highest heritability estimate (97%) was obtained for plant height. Number of grains/spike, 1000-grain weight and plant height showed significant, positive correlation with grain yield/plant. Path analysis revealed that all characters except plant height had a positive direct effect on grain yield/plant.
