Abstract
Speech acts have been in the focus of second language teaching since the inception of the communicative approach in the 1970's. In more recent methodologies, speech acts have still been taken into consideration, although their place and treatment are not very clear nor very developed in them. This study aims to contributing to the teaching of speech act from an innovative perspective, after showing the importance of speech acts in the development of communicative competence in second language acquisition, and more precisely, French as a second language.
