Abstract

The objective of this research was to construct a reference instrument for follow-up and evaluation in the construction of courses in virtual teaching-learning environments. For this purpose, an exhaustive review was made of different theories and approaches to instructional design, teaching-learning and perspectives on communication and interaction in virtual environments. Through a fundamental and qualitative study, approaches and perspectives for the design of virtual educational environments were analyzed, resulting in the drafting of guidelines based on five categories: instructional design, pedagogical approach, instructional architecture, web design and netiquette. Although this work is framed in distance learning, the instrument created could serve as a basis for the design of courses in face-to-face environments as well. As a result, a follow-up and evaluation instrument was designed that aims to have a direct impact on the pedagogical and didactic conception of courses in order to contribute to the understanding of the complexity in the construction of virtual learning environments.
