Can classical authors tell us about Africa’s ancient history?

Abstract

The chapters of this edited volume aim to create historical narratives of Africa in Antiquity based on Classical works. The present review criticises this assumption at the same time it emphasises a diverse range of complex human ex-periences left out of external textual accounts.
