Abstract

In its present state of development, ESR dating appears to be a potentially powerful tool for the geochronology of the Plio-Quaternary times. It presents strong analogies with thermoluminescence (TL) dating which also relies on propeties of radiation-induced electron-hole systems. However, TL dating will often replace ESR dating for younger samples, especially within the Holocene. -from Authors
