Abstract
Molecular cloning of the gene of quinohemoprotein alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH IIB) from Pseudomonas putida HK5 was done. The gene (qbdA) was 690 amino acids in length, containing a 22-amino acid signal sequence. Another gene (qbdB) upstream of qbdA, probably in the same transcriptional unit, was found. Further upstream, a gene divergently transcribed against qbdBA had identity with NAD-dependent aldehyde dehydrogenase. © 2003 by Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Agrochemistry.
