Treatment of nocturnal enuresis by the electric alarm

Abstract

A report is given on the treatment in their own homes of 100 nocturnal enuretics by means of the electric alarm. Their ages ranged from 3 to 21 years. More than half of them became dry within 5 weeks, three-quarters within 10 weeks, and 90 within 30 weeks. A theory is submitted concerning the nature of the defect in nocturnal enuresis and of the way the electric-alarm treatment corrects this defect.
