Abstract

From fundamental research to patient specific treatment planning computer simulations play an increasingly important role in the area of Medical Physics. In this paper we address one particular application, the simulation of blood flow in cerebral aneurysm in domains created from medical images. Our focus is on considering the correct blood flow rheology by comparing results from Newtonian and non-Newtonian flow simulations with the lattice Boltzmann method. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
