Abstract

Replies to comments made by Barbara R. Midgeon on a study conducted by J.T. Lee and colleagues, on the possible role of the human gene Tsix in protecting future active X from inactivation in mammalian X-chromosome. Difference in the regulation of X-chromosome inactivation between mice and humans; Argument that human females are Tsix-deficient and that Tsix cannot be a regulator of human X inactivation.
