Abstract
A summary of biological information on Equisetum arvense L., field horsetail, is presented. It is a circumpolar native species which is found in all parts of Canada north to latitude 83°N. It is a weed of low-lying meadows, pastures, hay and grain fields, orchards, small fruit plantings and roadsides, as well as occurring in riparian, native woodland and tundra situations.
