Abstract

Feminist and gender studies and those about disabilities are traditionally separate fields of research and theorizing, and each one have distinct and well defined objects and scopes. Such approaches were questioned in the 1990s by women with disabilities who were also feminist theories researchers, pointing to the limitations of both fields and the need to articulate them in order to form more complex perspectives of understanding the society as a whole. In this sense, this study intends to establish such articulations, thinking the field of disabilities as of the feminist and gender studies, in a queer/crip perspective that questions society and aims to set up a crippled world.
