Abstract

(Figure presented) Extraordinary solvents: The authors design deep eutectic solvents (DESs) based on small cations and fluorinated hydrogen-bond donors (see figure). These DESs display properties of decreased viscosity and increased conductivity with differences up to four orders of magnitude compared to ionic liquids. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
