Abstract

Doppler-Radar observations are utilised to describe the evolution of the severe thunderstorm updraft mesocyclone and is assocaited gust front. Tornadoes form within the elliptical mesocyclonic circulation, apparently along the major axis, and may denote a critical development stage. (A)
