Pensando as direitas na América Latina objeto científico, sujeitos e temporalidades?

Abstract

No alvorecer da década de 2000, no momento em que vimos a ascensão ao poder da esquerda na América Latina, foi cada vez mais comum encontrar, na imprensa e nos trabalhos científicos, referências aos partidos políticos de direita, como se essa categorização fosse auto evidente e fosse inerente aos sistemas políticos modernos que se estabeleceram e se consolidaram desde a independência. Nada é menos certo e, apesar de alguns esforços monográficos e de estudos comparativos meritórios, podemos apenas lamentar a pobre literatura existente sobre esta facção política. Este artigo irá elaborar, primeiro, um quadro síntese das principais questões historiográficas levantadas pela ascensão das direitas na América Latina. Depois, fornecerá uma grade de leitura geral forjada a partir de estudos sobre as direitas francesas, com o objetivo de alimentar a reflexão nascente sobre suas companheiras do outro lado do Atlântico.At the beginning of the 21st century, when Latin America is mainly governed by the Left, it is increasingly frequent to find references to right-wing movements or parties in newspapers or scientific works, as if this categorization was an obvious fact and as if it was inherent to the modern political systems which have risen and gathered strength since the independence of Latin American countries. However there is nothing evident about it. Despite some praiseworthy monographic and comparative studies, the paucity of the existing bibliography can only be deplored. This paper will first give a review of the main historiografic questions on right-wing mouvements and parties in Latin America. It will then offer general considerations based on scientific litterature dealing with the French right-wing, with an aim of nourrishing the incipient reflection on its Latin American counterparts.
