Abstract

Twenty-three 'debrites' were recovered in the top 270m of Miocene to Recent sediments at Site 530 in the southeast Angola Basin. They are closely associated with slumps and muddy biogenic turbidites in a proximal submarine fan sequence. The debris flows originated on the Walvis Ridge to the south and probably displaced very large volumes of unstable pelagic sediments.-from Author
