Abstract
Laing and Anti-Psychiatry establishes the context of Laing's unique role of "psychiatrist as prophet" and reviews in searching and critical essays the performance of that role, from the first writings on severe mental disorder to Laing's recent, more general assault on the foundations of modern civilization.
