Abstract
Panjang Island power supply has supplied by diesel power with 12 hours of operating time, so it takes an extra supply of renewable energy to improve the reliability of the electrical system. This research is aimed to design a solar system as an alternative electricity generator at a hybrid power plant of PLTS- PLTD. PLTS system is utilized to reduce the working time limit diesel to obtain optimum working. The results showed that the solar system can generates an energy of 153.89 kWp, 164684kWh/year of energy supply, 94.73% energy quality, 79.79% of the system reliability, and 33.66% of system losses. In the PLTH scheme obtained contributions from PLTS-PLTD by 33% until 67%, BPP PLTH of $ 0.64/kWh and can reduce carbon emissions by 85.93%.
