Abstract

In this paper we present a method for extracting relevant words from a document taking into account linguistic information. Form a set of words manually labelled as relevant or not and with the aid of a Machine Learning algorithm, we build a classifier which is able to decide which words from a unseen document must be regarded as relevant. This system is compared with some classical methods (based just on statistical information). © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
