Abstract

Nanoparticles exhibit different properties compared to their bulk counterpart and among many methods available for synthesis of nanoparticles, biological synthesis is a preferred green synthesis method due to their ecofriendly nature and ease in scale up. Silver Nanoparticles (AgNPs) are very significant due to their potential antimicrobial properties and can be used in wound healing applications. In this work, silver nanoparticles were synthesized with 13% (v/v) betel leaf extract and studied for the effect of pH and temperature and it was found that AGNPs were more stable at room temperature. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR and EDAX.. PEGylated AgNPs had antibacterial activity against the pathogens like Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus.
