Abstract

1) Fractures are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in the pediatric population. 2) Majority of pediatric fractures can be managed non-operatively. 3) Fractures with residual deformity can remodel over time. 4) Open fractures and compartment syndrome are surgical emergencies. 5) Non-accidental trauma needs to be considered in work-up (see non-accidental trauma chapter).
