Abstract

A fIRSTs t record of Pleopis sc hmackeri (Poppe , 1889 ) (Branc hiopoda , Onychopoda) in the Guanabara Bay , Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is de s cribed. This marine cladoceran species occurred in zooplanktonic samples obtained on Jun e 26 , 2000 , with densitie s =: 4.0 ind.m - 3 It s presence may be related with inflow of coastal waters to the bay
