Abstract

Information about several papers discussed at a symposium held August 31, 2009 to September 4, 2009 sponsored by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on thysanoptera and tospoviruses, is presented. Topics include detection and molecular characterization of Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV), biological control of onion thrips and molecular characterization of new tospoviruses. The symposium featured several scientists including Denis Persley, Calum Wilson and Desley Tree.
