Abstract

Vulvar and vaginal lesions may include benign, premalignant, and malignant neoplasms. Identifying normal variants, benign findings, and possibly serious diseases is a challenge for a clinician. Skin disorders of the vulva include a wide range of conditions characterized by inflammation and affecting the extragenital region as well. Sexual function and overall sense of well-being can be adversely affected by vulvovaginal symptoms that can be chronic.
