Abstract

The self-incompatibility (S) genotypes of 'Tsugaru', 'Sekaiichi', 'Natsumidori', 'Akita Gold', M. 9 and 16 other cultivars and strains corresponding to each S-allele genotype were determined by controlled cross pollination. Those of 45 others reported earlier were reconfirmed. The genotypes and the corresponding cultivars and strains are:(S(J)a, S(J)b) ='Golden Delicious' (S(J)a, S(J)c) ='Akita Gold', 'Kagayaki', Touhoku 10, Ri-34, Ri-51, (4)-424, (4)-425 (S(J)a, S(J)d) ='Toukou', Ri-24, Ri-93 (S(J)a, S(J)e) ='Redgold', 'Kinsei', Karo Fumei, Rero 18 (S(J)a, S(J)f) ='Narihoko', (4)-4186, (4)-4195 (S(J)b, S(J)c) ='Hatsuaki', 'Sekaiichi', 'Natsumidori', 'Taiyou 5', 'Kuifua', Morioka 52, (4)-511 (S(J)b, S(J)d) ='Tsugaru', 'Kougetsu' (4)-300, (4)-330, (4)-725, (4)-4189, (4)-4190 (S(J)b, S(J)e) =(4)150, (4)-743 (S(J)b, S(J)f) =M. 9, 'Northern Spy', 'Umezawa', Morioka 53, (4)-1, (4)-6, (4)-15, (4)-516, (4)-4187, (4)-4270, (4)-4271 (S(J)c, S(J)d) ='Jonathan', 'Himekami', U-45 (S(J)c, S(J)e) ='Delicious', 'Holly', 'Jonadel', 'Melrose', (4)-161, (4)-247, (4)-267 (S(J)c, S(J)f) ='Fuji', 'Shinkou', I-661, (4)-69, (4)-104 (S(J)d, S(J)e) =Touhoku 5, 1-172 (S(J)d, S(J)f) ='Senshu', 'Iwakami', 1-687 (S(J)e, S(J)f) ='Ralls Janet' Underlined cultivars and strains were newly determined in this report.
