Abstract
This paper assesses the performance of a multiple-line fluorescence X-ray tube for security imaging applications. The X-ray tube is characterised. The multiple-energy method is introduced as a possible imaging technique and its specificity is assessed for material recognition. A multiple-parameter algorithm for material recognition is described and its performance assessed. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
