Abstract

This paper describes the hydrothermal reaction of Cs, a dangerous element, with silica matrix in NaOH solution. Pollucite, a ceramic host structure for Cs, was produced by the reaction of Cs with siliceous sinter which was amorphous silica containing Al. The study is directed at immobilization of radioactive wastes.
