Abstract

In the field of design research, methodologies oriented to model the internal complexities of the design process are often discussed. However, the methodologies that generate knowledge for an advanced design practice that solves multivariable problems occurring outside the discipline are scarce. The model presented in this article emerges in the context of the Magíster en Diseño Avanzado (MADA), based on a methodological framework for action-research, iterated through its application to the student's final graduation project (AFG). A model including specific tools that allow students to develop a process to formulate advanced design projects was developed. As a model and methodology, the Poliedro Propuesta de Valor Académico - Academic Value Proposal Polyhedron- makes possible to integrate into the design's problem formulation reflections and insights based on literature review. Likewise, it makes it easier for the student, at the moment of proposing his final graduation project, to design solutions to the particular problem addressed, building models to create replicable and / or scalable proposals, and to generate knowledge for the disciplinary field.
