Abstract
In general, the source of electrical energy comes from PLN as the operator of the national electricity supply. However, some consumers, such as farmer groups with quite large needs for electrical energy, require alternative energy sources to reduce operational costs. The use of the PLN-Solar Panel hybrid system is an alternative that can be applied to groups of duck egg hatching breeders. The use of a hybrid system that is applied to hatching duck eggs is intended as an effort to utilize alternative energy sources as well as an effort to increase the income of duck egg hatching business breeders. The operation of this hybrid system uses an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), the priority is the source of electricity from solar panels and the backup source is PLN. Based on the system test, the data obtained were 221.2 volts and 0.11 amperes current from the solar panel source, while the PLN sources were 221.7 volts and 0.11 amperes. The time needed to transfer the source from the solar panel - PLN or vice versa is 0.5 seconds, while the load operating time when the solar panel - PLN is still 0.5 seconds, while the PLN - solar panel is 3.5 seconds. So it can be concluded that the operation of the hybrid system has been working well. The application of this technology product is expected to provide benefits for egg hatching business farmers in the form of savings in operational costs and increased income.
