Abstract
Peer review is the important tool for evaluating academic work. The constant change in the social environment around academics should be sufficient argument for vigilance and review of peer review. However, dissatisfaction with and even dysfunction in peer review that has recently become evident. This paper examines these issues, and comments on our experience with the effort at improving peer review implemented at the World Multi-conference on System Cybernetics and Informatics 2006.
