Abstract
The objective of this work is to present the application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in a 38 year old patient with blood phobia. The problem was conceptualised from a functional point of view as an Experiential Avoidance Disorder. The procedure was carried out using a format of 20 individual sessions plus two follow up ones. The main objective of the procedure consisted in generating in the patient the ability to connect with any experience that might arise in the present circumstance and to respond to it with actions that allows advancement in directions that have important values for him. The assessment of anxiety and depression pre and post-test used, showed a significant improvement at the end of the psychotherapeutic process, both on the phobic side as well as with quality of life.
