Abstract

Suicide is a leading cause of death worldwide, killing more than 800,000 people each year (World Health Organization [WHO], Preventing suicide: A global imperative, 2014). For therapists, the assessment, management, and treatment of suicidality is one of the most challenging and stressful clinical tasks (Jobes in Suicide Life Threat Behav 25: 437-449, 1995).
